Telengana authorities have warned Diljit Dosanjh not to perform songs that encourage violence, drugs, and drinking.

Before his November 15 "Dil-Luminati" concert in Hyderabad, singer Diljit Dosanjh has received a letter from Telengana authorities asking him not to sing songs that encourage violence, drugs, or alcohol. Additionally, the notification cautioned him against using children in the performance. Indian Express reported that the singer received the warning when Panditrao Dharenavar, a resident of Chandigarh, complained to Telangana authorities about Diljit's live performance of such songs during the program.

The district welfare officer of the Rangareddy district's department of welfare for women and children, the disabled, and senior citizens issued the notice on November 7. Regarding Diljit, it claims that during his previous live performance on October 26 and 27 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, he sang songs that encourage drug use, alcohol use, and violence, according to the video footage that was submitted. Parts of his songs that contain such lyrics are also mentioned in the complaint. These include his well-known songs "5 Taara" ("5 taara theke utte behke taareya/Main tera saara gussa") and "Patiala Peg" ("Ehda ni sukhaala chaddi da.. Patiala peg laa chaddi da"), both of which suggest consuming alcohol to numb anger and sadness.

The Punjab High Court and the Haryana High Court have issued orders prohibiting the advertising of songs that depict alcohol, drugs, and violence in a positive light, according to the complaint Panditrao Dharenavar. Additionally, he threatened to file a contempt of court petition if Diljit performed similar songs at his Friday show. The singer received the notification as a result of his internet complaint. The warning also mentions that children under the age of thirteen are permitted to participate in the concert in accordance with its rules, and that there may be flashing lights and loud noises. However, it warns the organizers against using flashing lights and loud music because they are dangerous to children.
