"I was a little disappointed," said Vikrant Massey!
In a recent interview, Vikrant Massey disclosed that he was unaware of the final demise of his character, Bablu Pandit, in Season 1 of the crime-thriller television series Mirzapur. He said that there had been a misunderstanding with Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, which supported the show, and that he had signed the deal without reading the entire screenplay.
Vikrant stated, "I had a different plan in my head, so I was a little disappointed when my character was killed," in a YouTube conversation with Faye D'Souza. I learned a lot from that, and now I make sure to read the entire screenplay or else I won't sign the contract until I know exactly what I'm supposed to accomplish. There was a small misunderstanding. The writing process is laborious and continues while you are filming because it is a longer format.
"I signed on Mirzapur because I have a great rapport with Excel Entertainment, the show's production company," he continued. I was graciously cast in Dil Dhadakne Do (2015). I believed that Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, and Farhan Akhtar had gambled on me when no one else had. I reviewed the six-episode screenplay and then verbally agreed and signed the contract. I was thinking, "Oh no," when I read the screenplay for the subsequent episodes. "We thought you read them," they said to me. "I don't think I was given the last two episodes when we signed," I remarked. I should have been a little more cautious, and there was the misunderstanding.
At the conclusion of Season 1, Vikrant's character passes away. Earlier this year, the show's third season premiered. His upcoming film is The Sabarmati Report, which opens in theaters on November 15.
