Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, moves into the last shooting phase.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is currently working with Mohanlal on the highly awaited Lucifer sequel Empuraan, has said that the movie is nearing the end of its production. March 27, 2025, is the date of the movie's global theatrical debut.

In the Lucifer sequel, which is regarded as the most expensive feature film in Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal reprises his role as Khureshi-Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally.

Prithviraj, who plays Khureshi-Ab'raam's right-hand man Zayed Masood, is also a member of the returning cast. Additionally reprising their roles from the original installment are Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Saikumar, and Nandu. Murali Gopy, who worked with Prithviraj on Lucifer, wrote the screenplay, which Prithviraj is directing.

Plot details have not yet been disclosed by the producers, but based on Lucifer's climax, it appears to follow Khureshi-Ab'raam, the head of a global criminal organization.

Sujith Vaassudev, Stunt Silva, and Deepak Dev return as the action choreographer, editor, and cinematographer, respectively. Empuraan has also been widely filmed in the US, UK, Kerala, Chennai, and Ladakh. Through his company, Aashirvad Cinemas, in collaboration with Lyca Productions, Antony Perumbavoor is producing the movie.
