Audi will be looking at launching the A5 in the Indian market by the end this year at prices starting somewhere around the Rs. 35 lakh. The A5 is likely to be available in four variants with both diesel and petrol engine options that will be mated to Audi's automatic transmission. The top end petrol model is expected to come with Audi's famed 4-wheel drive or the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The Audi A5, if launched, will also fill the gap between the company's two offerings, the A4 and the A6. Expect a high performance S5 version also to be introduced in India as well.

Renault Kwid

Inside, the Kwid at least on the top-end variants will be unique in its category. The black and grey combination keeps the interior looking funky without making it boring or brooding. The highlights include the 7-inch multimedia touch screen borrowed from the Duster, a new three-spoke steering wheel, an all-digital instrument cluster and tough looking bits all around. The top-end variants of the car will get The Kwid's interior design, quality materials, build quality and space will certainly make it an attractive proposition. Though the Kwid is only 3680mm long, the height of the car compensates for the loss of horizontal space.
Renault's new Kwid is likely to be powered by a new 0.8-litre, petrol motor which promises adequate performance and fuel-efficiency without sacrificing comfort in terms of noise and vibrations. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. A more powerful 1.0-litre (codenamed BR10) petrol enigne will also be offered for top-end models, and will be paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The AMT variants of the Kwid could give the Maruti Alto K10 AMT tough competition. There could be a diesel model on the cards as well. The engine in question is the K9K 1.5 litre diesel unit that does duty in everything from the Pulse to the Duster.

Maruti New Ertiga

Though the overall silhouette remains unchanged, the front end geats a bold new three-slat chrome grille that sits neatly between the headlights. The front bumper has been tweaked a bit featuring a smaller airdam and chrome inserts over the fog lights. The side profile sees the addition of new twin-five spoke alloy wheels that lends a bit of a sporty appeal.
The rear profile on the other hand features a thick new chrome slat which sits over the number plate housing, with newly designed reflectors placed between the same and the taillights. The rear bumper has been redesigned as well with two conventionally designed reflectors placed at the opposite ends.
The Ertiga facelift will be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines, including the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol unit that churns out 92 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque; and the 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced DDiS diesel unit that generates 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both these engines will be tweaked to be more fuel efficient, as a result of which the power figures might be compromised.

Nissan New Xtrail

The new X-Trail brings wonderful exterior design which is not only modern and sporty but also very functional. The front is well designed and looks contemporary with the LED daytime running lamps. The headlights are LED for both high and low beams. The fog lamps on the bumper are chrome tipped while the grille has a 'v shape' thick strip of chrome. The rear has the 'boomerang' shape tail lights and a strip of chrome above the number plate on the boot door. The crossover has an aggressive design and Nissan seems to have gotten it right with the design update to the X-Trail.
Interiors on the new Nissan X-Trail have excellent features and a premium feel owing to the chrome, geometric metallic and piano black finishes. It brings full leather offering to the seats and is capable of seating 7 passengers inside its spacious cabin area. It has a 7 inch touchsreen with several new functionalities such as NissanConnect that offers a range of apps covering music, entertainment etc. It has a panoramic sun roof. It has multiple air bags for driver and passenger safety along with Nissan Safety Shield System.
The engine is expected to be a 2.0 liter unit and we expect to see a petrol and diesel engine variant in the country although the exact specifications and figures are yet to be revealed. It also brings an advanced four wheel drive system. Nissan calls it All Mode 4x4i. The system is capable of reacting to wheel spin and provides maximum traction as per driver requirement. The system also allows you to switch between two wheel drive mode, all wheel drive and auto mode.

Hyundai New Eon

The Hyundai Eon is known for its upmarket interiors and the new model is expected to take the game further in this department with revised trim and seat fabric, along with a few bits of more equipment. The highlight though ofcourse will be a new double-DIN stereo that will be more premium and pack in more features.
Under the hood, the Eon will continue to be powered by the same range of petrol engines consisting of a 800cc unit and a 1.0 litre unit. There are also unconfirmed reports of the Eon being fitted with Hyundai’s 1.1 litre three cylinder diesel engine that does duty in models such as the Grand i10.
Expect the face-lifted Hyundai Eon to be priced in the range of Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Chevrolet Trail Blazer

It has a all-wheel-drive system and is powered by GM's new 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine, which features a variable-geometry turbocharger.
One of the strenghts of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer is its muscular styling. It was designed by GM South America Design Center in São Caetano do Sul, Brazil, and shares a number of design cues with its sister vehicle, the Chevrolet Colorado.

The front has the trademark hree-dimensional grille mesh and the big grille gives it tonnes of presence. The wheelarches are massive and huge ground clearance means that even the 20-inch aluminum wheels look small.

Fiat Abarth Punto

The highlight of the Abarth Punto will be its engine. It will come fitted with a 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol unit that also does duty in the Linea sedan. However, the engine on the ‘Abarth’ version of the hatchback has been uprated to produce about 150PS of maximum power output and as much as 200Nm of peak-torque! The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
To match the firepower of the engine, Fiat has carried out necessary tweaks in the suspension and braking system of the Punto Evo Abarth. Disc brakes are fitted as standard on all four wheels while the suspension setup has been stiffened and lowered for enhanced dynamic capabilities.
On the outside, the Abarth Punto is identical to the standard car, although it gets contrast orange lining in the grille, orange wing-mirrors and new set of tastefully done Abarth alloy wheels. All the Fiat logos have been replaced with the ‘Abarth’ scorpion logo on the vehicle, meaning Fiat is looking forward to establish Abarth as a brand with its own separate identity.
