Hacking
It means, unauthorized attempts to bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network.It is computer trespass , the accessing of computer system without the express or implied permission of its owner.Based on the objective, hacking can be classified into financial,recreational, intelligence, military and terrorist hacking. Hacking is not defined in the amendment IT Act. The concerned sections are Sec 43 (a) and Section 66 of the Act of the IPC.
The punishment prescribed for dishonest or fraudulent unauthorized access is imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or fine which may extend to five lakh rupees or both.The wrong-doer is also liable to pay damages to the affected person.
This is an act of disguising one computer to electronically look like another computer to gain access to a restricted access system.An email activity in which the sender addresses and other parts of the email header are altered to appear as though the email originated from a different source.
It's simply says,it is usually done to distribute unsolicited email or viruses. The sections attracted are Sec 416 (cheating by personation) and Sec 463 (forgery) of the IPC. Section 66 D is also applicable which states that "Whoever by means of any communication device or computer resource cheats by personation shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to one lakh rupees."
