World Cup 2015: Boundaries count high in India and for Indian batsmen
India’s batsmen are always known to be the entertainers, especially at home. The small grounds in India mean that the batsmen hit more sixes and fours during their knocks. That results in huge scores both for the team and individually. But when it comes to scoring abroad, the percentage of boundaries comes down drastically. In fact since 2010, Indian batsmen have scored 51.1% of runs in boundaries (fours and sixes combined) in India compared to 44.5% runs in boundaries when playing outside India.
Here below is a count of boundaries in every country since January 2010. It is revealing that India is the country where most fours and sixes are hit. It also confirms that One-Day cricket, especially in India, is made for batsmen. The period from January 2010 also saw four individual double hundreds being scored in the 50-over format and all four knocks came in India by the home batsmen.
