New ‘Avengers 2′ Trailer: The Hulk Loses Control

Despite appearing in a Comic-Con poster last summer and various images of leaked promotional artwork, Marvel’s most interesting new member of The Avengers has yet to get an official debut. After voicing the character of Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) artificially intelligent assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man trilogy and the first Avengers movie, Paul Bettany steps in front of the camera as The Vision in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The Vision wasn’t included in the first teaser trailer for Age of Ultron, nor did he appear in the sizzle reel at Comic-Con or any official stills since, but we did have the chance to see him in person on set last year, albeit without the special effects needed to complete his costume that are added during post-production. The second trailer for The Avengers 2 unfortunately still holds back on revealing The Vision and instead, fleshes out the doom and gloom scenery of the original teaser, setting up his reveal for later.

The second official Age of Ultron trailer instead offers a better look at Ultron in action, with a few additional bits of dialogue. The focus however, is squarely on The Hulk losing control. Where early marketing had us wondering if the Hulk was fighting an Ultron-controlled Iron Man or if he’s being setup, it’s made much more clear here that he does in fact, lose control and that Iron Man must battle him to stop his rampage. Writer and director Joss Whedon wasn’t kidding when he said Ultron would get under the heroes’ skin and test their team strength.
